This time last year, I was on Martha's Vineyard. It had been a very hectic five months prior. My position where I was working had been eliminated, I had renovated the building where my office is located, and then, I launched the Wealth and Wisdom Resource Group full time. But, it was not until I arrived at the airport and was finally sitting still long enough to watch television that I found out that New Orleans was under water. I could not believe my eyes. More than that, I could not believe how out of touch I was and how driven I had been to totally focus on getting this business going. Like many of you I was working hard. But, in that moment of reality, I realized it did not matter. In the words of King Solomon, it's all vanity.I bring this point up not just to remember the Katrina devastation but to take a look at what's important and how we spend too much time working instead of living. I've heard ministers say we are in the seventh day of God; which on the seventh day, God rested from His labor.As we approach Labor Day, I say it is time to rest from your labor. It is time to live. It is time to live the life that you have been thinking about, dreaming about and maybe even running from. I know as I have been on this journey there has been times when I knew what to do and I knew it was time but for whatever reason I would allow fear to control my actions. I have talked myself out of more opportunities than anyone else will ever have a chance to sabotage. I call it self sabotage. What are you denying yourself of because you have allowed some type of fear to hinder you? Whether it is a fear of failing or a fear of succeeding, it is false evidence appearing real. Stand up! Believe Again! Dream Again! Live…You may be asking the question, how do I begin to live? Since it is a holiday weekend why not take a few minutes to think about what you want. Think about what will make you happy. Find a quiet place where you can calm your spirit and just let your mind run free. Get a picture in your mind of what you would like to drive, or where you would like to live; even think about the clothes you want to wear and the food you would to eat. Wallace D. Wattles, in his book, the Science of Getting Rich, say's "God is trying to live and do and enjoy things through humanity. Mr. Wattles also states, God is saying "I want hands to build wonderful structures, to play divine harmonies, to paint glorious pictures, I want feet to run my errands, eyes to see my beauties, tongues to tell mighty truths and to sing marvelous songs," and so on.
